Rashtriya Kisan Post graduate College, Shamli is a prestigious college of western Utter Pradesh to catering the higher education needs of both urban and rural areas. It is one of the oldest college affiliated with CCS University Meerut. R.K. PG College Shamli was founded by efforts of Late Shri Virendra Verma (Ex Governor of Punjab And Himachal Pradesh), and Late Shri Udaiveer Singh (a prominent farmer) made a historic contribution by donating to 252 Bigha (99.58 acres) of agricultural land for the development of this college. Along with the great contribution of Verma family, every farmer of Shamli Cane Society contributed towards the construction of this college.

This college was established in July 01, 1958 in old campus at Barkhandi. Since 2000-2001 it has been shifted to new campus at Karnal Road. The college is government aided Co-educational college. the college also runs several self finance courses every year thousand of high merit students strive hard to take admission in this prestigious college of western U.P. at present the total strength of the college at present is approximately 2000.
