FACULTY OF SCIENCE

The Faculty of Science at Rashtriya Kisan P.G. College, Shamli is one of the oldest and most important faculties of the institution. Established in 1958 along with the college, it has played a key role in promoting science education in western Uttar Pradesh. Initially, it included six departments Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Botany, Zoology and Physical Education & Sports, making a total of seven departments.

The faculty offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes with strong academic support. The B.Sc. programme has been available since the beginning, allowing students to choose from various subject combinations. In recent years, the college has adopted the New Education Policy (NEP), focusing on multidisciplinary learning, flexibility and skill-based education. Postgraduate courses were introduced gradually, including M.Sc. in Physics (1971), Chemistry (1992) and Botany (2007), to promote advanced studies and research.

The Faculty of Science is supported by qualified teachers and well-equipped laboratories, along with a rich library of scientific resources. It emphasizes practical learning, research and skill development. Over the years, it has contributed significantly to preparing students for higher education, competitive exams and careers in teaching, research, industry, and sports sciences, playing a vital role in regional academic development.
