National and international commemorative days, events and festivals
Independence Day: On the eve of the ‘Independence Day’ on 15th August, 2020, flag hoisting was done by the principal Dr. Arvind Kumar in the college campus at 9:00 a.m. Covid-19 protocol was followed in celebrating the Independence Day and the college campus was decorated with the lighting system at night.
Gandhi and Shastri Jayanti were celebrated in the college campus on 02 October 2020.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee Jayanti: India celebrates Atal Bihari Vajpayee Jayanti on 25th December every year. R.K. College, Shamli also organised a three days cultural program from22-12-2020 to 24-12-2020 to celebrate the Jayanti. Various cultural programs were organised by the students to highlight the character of the ex-prime minister. Winner students of the online quiz, essay writing and painting competitions were honoured by the principal.
National Voter’s DayA Rally was organised in the college on 25th January 2021.
Republic Day celebration:Republic Day was celebrated in the college campus on 26th January 2021.Dr Satyendra Verma (President of the management committee) hosted Indian flag on this occasion. Afterwards statues of Saraswati Maa and the founder of the college were garlanded and the ceremony was closed.
Basant Panchami:Maharaja Suheldev Jayanti was celebrated in R.K. College, Shamli on day of Basant Panchami on16th February 2021.Maharaja Suheldev was remembered for his bravery in the speech delivered by Dr. Chandra Bali Patel, Dr. S.K. Pandey, Dr. M.R. Saini, Dr. Omkar Singh and Mr. Satyendra Sharma were present in the program.
Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav: India is celebrating 75th year of its independence as Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. On this occasion the members of the cultural committee consisting of Dr. Shrikant Varshney, Dr. MR Saini and Dr. Charu Goel put up their views in a conference organised in the college on 12th March, 2021.The students remember the freedom fighters and Martyrs of the country through their poem’s speeches etc.
World environment Day: World Environment Day was organised in the college on 5th June 2021.On this occasion a webinar was organised on the topic prevention of environment degradation through afforestation. Dr. Arvind Kumar (principal) organised the webinar in the presence of Chief Guest Naresh Malik (Principal CCRD, Muzaffarnagar)on closing of program, tree plantation was done in the college campus by the members of management committee, principal and other teaching and non-teaching staff.
International Yoga Day:7thInternational Yoga Day was celebrated in the college on 21st June,2021. Library and office staff members practiced yoga in the college campus in the presence of the principal R.K. College Shamli whereas the other staff members practiced yoga from home.
