Rashtriya Kisan Post Graduate College, Shamli is a prestigious college of western Utter Pradesh to catering the higher education needs of both urban and rural areas. It is one of the oldest college affiliated with CCS University Meerut R. K. (P.G.) College, Shamli was founded by the efforts of late Sri Virendre Verma, Ex-Governor of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, a farmer and eminent politician of western U.P.   Late Sri Udaiveer Singh, a prominent farmer of western U. P. made a historic contribution by donating 252 bigha (99.58 acres) of agricultural land (Please see the details of the Land ) for the development of this college, which lead to establishment of the agriculture faculty in the college. With this great contribution of Verma Family, also every farmer of Shamli Cane Society, contributed toward the construction of this college.

The college has two campuses. This college was started in 1958 in old campus at Bankhandi; later in 2000-2001, it has been shifted to new campus at Karnal Road. The new campus is covering an area of 9380 square meters.  The college has agricultural land of about 350 bigha (138.86 acres) spread across at Sikka farm, Goharni farm and Karnal road farm.

The college is an important landmark in Shamli in the field of education and sits in an open and peaceful environment. This college is Government Aided, Co- educational college. This college also runs several self- finance courses. Every year thousands of high merit students strive hard to take admission in this prestigious college of U.P. At present, the total strength of the college is 2100.

R. K. (P.G.) College, Shamli has a glorious history of achievements in academics and other fields. Personalities from Judges, IAS, IFS, IRS, Doctors, Advocates, Social Workers, Scientists, leading Industrialist and Educationists have been students of this college. The campus is constantly under CCTV surveillance. It has up to the mark facilities for all major sports and has a top-notch conference hall, a fully equipped library along with an adequate E –library. The campus includes a girl hostel, guest house and a teacher’s quarters.
